He was named best actor at the 88th Academy Awards, with Brie Larson named best actress for Room.<br /><br />Spotlight took home the best picture Oscar with Mad Max: Fury Road picking up the most awards of the night, with six accolades.<br /><br />Mark Rylance won the best supporting actor Oscar, with fellow Briton Sam Smith winning best original song.<br /><br />The ceremony had been boycotted by some Hollywood figures protesting about the lack of ethnic diversity among this year's nominees, as all 20 nominees in the best acting or supporting acting categories are white.<br /><br />Host Chris Rock addressed the controversy head on as he launched the ceremony, and it was a theme that was returned to several times during the night.<br /><br />Rock commented he had "counted at least 15 black people" in the montage that opened the ceremony, before welcoming people to the "white People's Choice awards".<br /><br />"You realise if they nominated hosts, I wouldn't even get this job," he quipped. "Y'all would be watching Neil Patrick Harris right now."<br /><br />Rock added: "Everyone wants to know is Hollywood racist? You have to go at it the right way. Is it burning-cross racist? Fetch-me-some-lemonade racist? No.<br /><br />"It's a different kind of racist. Is Hollywood racist? You're damn right it's racist but it's sorority racist. It's like: We like you Rhonda, but you're not a Kappa.''<br /><br />Among the winners for Mad Max: Fury Road - nominated for 10 Oscars including best director for George Miller - was British designer Jenny Beavan, for best costume design.<br /><br />The Revenant won three of the 12 awards for which it was nominated. Nepal earthquake – Kathmandu Vally shaken WATCH VIDEO NEWS

Kathmandu: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale has shaken western and central Nepal including the Kathmandu Valley, forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic.According to the National Seismological Centre, the epicentre of the quake was in Gorkha district, about 150 kms west of Kathmandu, the same area where a 7.8 magnitude temblor on April 25 last year killed over 9,000 people and left behind a trail of devastation. The quake was strong enough to drag people out of their houses. No casualties were reported so far from the area. At least 434 aftershocks with four or more magnitude have been recorded so far since the last year’s devastating earthquake. On Saturday, a 4.1 magnitude aftershock was recorded with its epicentre at Nuwakot district. Some two weeks ago, central Nepal was hit by a strong earthquake that created panic among the people of Kathmandu.The 5.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 10.05 PM on February 5, with epicentre located at Sindhupalchowk district. The higher frequency of occurrences of low magnitude tremors lessen the possibility of bigger earthquake in centralNepal, according to experts. Some 12 km beneath the surface of Kathmandu valley, energy created by the April?s earthquake is said to be stored, which could burst at any time causing an earthquake similar to that of April-May last year.<br />

Iraqi women and girls, some as young as 11 years old, are subjected to conditions of human trafficking within the country and in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Iran, and possibly Yemen for forced prostitution and sexual exploitation within households. In some cases, women are lured into forced sexual exploitation through false promises of work. The more prevalent means of human trafficking is through sale or forced marriage. Family members have coerced girls and women into prostitution to escape desperate economic circumstances, to pay debts, or to resolve disputes between families. Some women and girls are trafficked within Iraq for the purpose of sexual exploitation through the traditional institution of temporary marriages (muta’a). Under this arrangement, the family receives a dowry from the husband and the marriage is terminated after a specified period. Iraqi males have also taken advantage of muta’a to traffic multiple women into other Iraqi provinces or neighboring countries, especially Syria, for the purposes of forced prostitution. Anecdotal reports tell of desperate Iraqi families abandoning their children at the Syrian border with the expectation that traffickers on the Syrian side will pick them up and arrange forged documents so the young women and girls can stay in Syria in exchange for working in a nightclub or brothel. The large population of internally displaced persons and refugees moving within Iraq and across its borders are particularly at risk of being trafficked.<br />

रहेको अमृतसर स्थित गान्धी ग्राउण्ड थियो । उनले पनि त्यहाँ गएर क्रिकेट प्रशिक्षण लिन तथा नियमित अभ्यास गर्न थाले । प्रशिक्षण लिन थालेको केही समयमै उनको मेहनतले उनले आफ्ना गुरुहरुलाई प्रभावित पार्न सफल भईसकेका थिए । उनी अझै राम्रो गर्न सक्ने ठानेर उनका गुरुहरुले उनलाई दिल्लि प्रशिक्षणका लागि आज सुझाए । सुझावको अनुसरण गर्दै उनी पनि दिल्ली पुगे र कोटा मैदानमा प्रशिक्षणको व्यवस्था मिलाएँ ।<br /><br />दिल्लीमा प्रशिक्षण गरिरहेका बेला उनी ईण्डिया यु १९ टीमको १८ जनाको क्याम्पसमा पर्न सफल भए । जुन उनको खेल जिवनको सवैभन्दा ठुलो उपलब्धी थियो । एउटा नेपाली खेलाडी ईण्डिया यु १९ विश्वकप टीमको १८ जनाको सुचीमा पर्नु भनेको कम उपलब्धी थिएन । त्यो क्याम्प उन्मुक्त चन्दको कप्तानीमा रहेको भारतिय टीमका लागी थियो । पछि त्यसै टोलीले सन २०१२ को यु १९ विश्वकप पनि जित्यो । दुर्भाग्य उनी औलामा लागेको चोटका कारण अगाढी बढ्न सकेनन् र बन्नै लागेको ईतिहास रोकियो । उनलाई औलामा चोट लाग्नु नेपाल र उनका लागी निकै दुर्भाग्य बन्यो ।<br />औला फ्याक्चर भएपछि उनले केही समय क्रिकेट खेल्न सकेनन् । त्यतिवेला उनलाई भारतमा आफै कमाएर आफ्नो खर्च धान्नुपर्ने पनि परिवारका लागि पैसा पठाउँनु पर्ने थियो । त्यसैले केही समय क्रिकेटलाई बिट मार्दै उनी आर्थिक उपार्जन तिर लागे । उनी धनगढी फर्केपछि धनगढीका साथीहरु केशव सिंह, राजेश खत्री लगायतले उनलाई तपाई राम्रो क्रिकेट खेल्नुहुन्छ भन्दै आफ्नो टीमबाट खेल्न आग्रह गरे । त्यतिवेला केशब र राजेश एसपीए टीमका महत्वपुर्ण सदस्य थिए । उनीहरुको प्रस्ताव स्वीकार्दै दिलबहादुरले रोकिएको उनको क्रिकेट यात्रा पुनः सुरु गरे, राम्रो प्रदर्शन पनि गरे ।<br />उनले धनगढी बसाईका क्रममा निकै टुर्नामेन्टहरु खेलेर सवैलाई प्रभावित पारेका थिए । नेशनल प्रतियोगिताका लागि त्यतिवेला धनगढीमा सिनियर छनौट प्रतियोगितामा उनले पनि सहभागिता जनाए । दुई खेल खेल्न पाएका उनले एक खेलमा ५० रन बनाएर अविजित रहे तर अन्तिम सुचीमा पर्न सकेनन् । उनीभन्दा कम प्रदर्शन गर्नेहरु टीममा थिए तर सेलेक्टरले उनको प्रतिभा चिन्न सकेनन् र उनी टोलीमा अटाएनन् । उनको मन निकै खल्लो भयो, ईण्डिया यु १९ टीमको क्याम्पसम्म परिसकेका खेलाडीहरुलाई प्रदर्शन राम्रो हुँदा हुँदै पनि क्षेत्रिय प्रतियोगितामा पनि चान्स नदिएकाले उनको नेपालबाट खेल्ने सपनालाई तुषरापात भए जस्तै लाग्यो । मन खल्लो भएपनि उनले क्रिकेट छोडेनन् र डिसिएको भारतको सह्रानपुरमा भएको क्रिकेट टुरमा सहभागी भए । उनीसँगै डिसिएको टोली भारतको सह्रानपुर प्रतियोगिता खेल्न प्रस्थान गर्यो । त्यतिवेला आयोजकले नेपालबाट डिसिएलाई मात्र टुर्नामेन्टमा प्रवेश दिएको थियो भने बाकीं सम्पुर्ण टीमहरु भारतका विभिन्न क्षेत्रबाट थिए । प्रतियोगितामा डिसिएले तेस्रो स्थान हात पार्यो उनको प्रदर्शन प्रभावशाली रह्यो ।<br /><br /><br />प्रतियोगिता सकि डिसिएको टोलीसँगै उनी धनगढी फर्किए । त्यसको केही दिनमा उनका साथीहरुले दिल्लीमा किंग्स ईलेवन पञ्जावको छनौट खेल भईरहेको जानकारी पाए र दिल्ली गएँ । छनौट खेलमा उनले ४२ बलमा ८४ रन र २ विकेट लिए जुन छनौट खेलको सवैभन्दा राम्रो प्रदर्शन थियो । उनको यो प्रदर्शनले छनौटकर्ताको आखाँमा उनी पर्न सफल रहे । छनौट खेल सम्पन्न भईसकेको केही दिनमा उनका नाममा एक पत्र आयो । पञ्जाव क्रिकेट एशोसियशनको नामबाट आएको उक्त पत्र उनका लागि आईपिल खेल्ने ढोका थियो । छनौट खेलमा राम्रो प्रदर्शन गरेका कारण उनले पहिलो चरण पार गरिसकेको पत्रले स्पष्ट पार्यो अब दोस्रो चरणमा उनको फिटनेश टेष्टका लागि पत्र थियो । किंग्स ईल्यावेन पञ्जावले पत्र मार्फत उनलाई फिटनेश टेष्टका लागि बोलाईयो र उनी पञ्जाव गए । दुई दिनको फिटनेश क्याम्पमा पनि उनी सफल भए । यसले उनलाई आईपीएलमा खेल्न अझ नजिक पु¥यायो ।<br />फिटनेश चरण पार गरिसकेपछि अब किंग्स ईलेवन पञ्जावले उनलाई अन्तिम क्याम्पका लागि माहोली बोलाएको छ । पञ्जावका लागि मुख्य १६ जना अन्तराष्ट्रिय खेलाडीहरु चयन भईसकेका छन । त्यससँगसँगै टीमले रिजर्व खेलाडीका लागि अन्य १६ जनालाई खुला प्रतिस्पर्धा मार्फत टीममा भित्र्याउने गर्दछ, उनले भने मेरो अन्तिम संघर्ष अब त्यही १६ जना भित्र पर्ने हो । आगामी मार्च ४ देखि १३ तारिखसम्म उक्त छनौट प्रतियोगिता छ । पत्रमा खेलिएको छ, क्याम्पमा पर्न सफल तपाई नेपालको पहिलो खेलाडी हुनुहुन्छ, तपाईलाई बधाई अनि शुभकामना । यदि म उक्त छनौट प्रतियोगितामा सफल हुन सके भने किंग्स ईलेवनको सदस्यका रुपमा रहनेछु । छनौट भने मात्र किंग्स ईलेवनले उनीसँग बार्षिक २५ लाख रुपैया सम्मको सम्झौता गर्नेछ भने अन्य ब्राण्डहरुले पनि उनलाई स्पोन्सर गर्नेछन ।<br /><br /><br />क्याम्पका लागि लेटर आउँनु मेरो जिवनको सवैभन्दा ठुलो उपलब्धी हो, उनले भने म लेटर पाईसकेपछि सिधै नेपाल आए । नेपालबाट खेल्ने मेरो पहिलो प्रयासमा म क्षेत्रिय प्रतियोगिताबाटै फालिय तर अहिले आईपिएलको क्याम्पसम्म परेको छु । म क्याम्प सम्म परेकाले नेपालमा Nepalese Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli today said his country does not play India or China “card” and there is “no question” of favouring one over the other as it is not a viable “policy option”.<br />

“Misunderstandings” between India and Nepal “do not” persist anymore, Oli said, terming it as the “most important” outcome of his first visit to India after assuming office in last October.<br />
<br />
He made the remarks while delivering the 21st Sapru House Lecture of the Indian Council of World Affairs here which was presided over by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and attended by top members of the visiting Nepalese delegation.<br />
<br />
“The main mission of my coming to India was to clear misunderstanding and apprehensions that surfaced in the past few months following the promulgation of the Constitution. In my meetings with President, Vice President, Prime Minister and all other leaders I tried to clarify what we did in the past few months, what our intentions were and how we want to advance as a nation.<br />
<br />
“Having exchanged views with them I am convinced that whatever misundertsanding was there does not perisist anymore. This in my view is the most important outcome of my visit,” Oli said.<br />
<br />
Oli, who is the first Prime Minister under the newly adopted Constitution of Nepal, said “intermittent” issues between two countries and governments “should not lead us” to actions that are unwarranted and impact people’s daily lives adversely.<br />
<br />
On resolving the issues flagged by the Madhesi community, Swaraj “reiterated” her gratitude to Oli for having put in place a political mechanism to address their concerns. “This is the power of democracy that we resolve our issues through political dialogue.”<br />
<br />
Touching upon the country’s relations with its northern neighbour China, Oli said there was no “basis” to the perception that Nepal “uses this or that card”.<br />

उज्यालो ल्याउनुछ भने कम्तिमा चारपल्ट अनुहारको सरसफाइ जरुरी छ । अझ तैलीय छाला भएमा त सफाइको मात्रा बढाउन जरुरी छ ।<br />धेरै सेभिङ नगर्ने<br />धेरै पुरुषलाई सफाचट् हुने रहर हुन्छ । दाह्री नभएपछि जवान रसुन्दर देखिन्छ भन्ने भ्रम छ । तर, दैनिक सफाचट् हुने बानीले फाइदा गर्दैन । बरु दैनिक सेभिङका कारण छालामा पत्र बस्नजान्छ र झन् कुरुप र बुढो देखिन्छ ।<br />मालिस<br />मस्चराइजले छालालाई सुख्खा हुनबाट जोगाउँछ । सुख्खा छालाले सबै पुरुषलाई वास्तविक उमेर भन्दा बुढो देखाउँँछ । मस्चराइजिङले छालामा रिंकल बस्नबाट पनि जोँगाउछ । यसकारणआफ्नो अनुहार सधैँ सफा गरेर मस्चराइज गर्नुपर्छ । यदि धेरै तैलीय छाला छ भने सोप–फ्री क्लिजरको प्रयोग गर्दा राम्रो हुन्छ ।<br />आँखाको हेरचाह<br />धेरैले एउटै गल्ती गर्छन्, त्यो हो सुन्दरताका लागि अनुहारको छालामा गोरोपन ल्याउनुपर्छ । तर, कसैले पनि सबैभन्दा चाँडो ठोक्किन जाने आँखाको वास्ता गर्दैनन् । आँखाको हेरचाह गर्दा जवान देखिने मात्रा अझै बढ्छ । किनभने आँखाको वरिपरि आउने चाउरीपनाले उमेर समेत बढी देखाउँछ । पानी र तनावका कारण आँखा वरिपरि यस्तो हुन जान्छ । जसलाई नियमितरुपमा ख्याल गर्न सके राम्रो हुन्छ ।<br />दाँतको ख्याल गर्नुहोस्<br />अरुको आँखामा चाँडै पर्ने मध्ये दाँत अग्रपंतिमा आउँछ । आँखा जुधेपछि त्यो नजर दाँतमा ठोकिन्छ । त्यसैले दाँतको ख्याल गर्ने र सरफाइ गर्ने कुरामा कहिल्यै पछि पर्नुहुँदैन ।<br />क्लिजिङ<br />आफ्नो दैनिकीमा क्लिजिङ मात्रै थप्ने हो भने पनि अनुहारमाचमक ल्याउन समय लाग्दैन । प्रतिदिन दुईपल्ट क्लिजिङ मात्रै गर्ने हो भने छालामा जमेको धुलो र फोहोर हटाएर स्वस्थ बनाउँछ। यो सेभिङ गर्नुभन्दा पहिले गर्दा राम्रो हुन्छ । जसले सेभिङमा अप्ठ्यारो नपारेर छाला बिगार्न दिँदैन ।<br />सनस्क्रिन<br />पुरुषहरु सुन्दरतामा ध्यान दिन्छन् तर मुख्य कुरामा वास्ता गर्दैनन् । घरबाट निस्किनुअघि सनस्क्रिन सबैका लागि जरुरी हुन्छ । घामले महिला वा पुरुष नछुट्याउने भएकाले जवान र सुन्दर देखिन रहर गर्नेले सनस्क्रिन लगाउन अनिवार्य जस्तै छ ।</div>

Inaugurating a workshop on the ‘National Education Commission for New Education Policy in Federal Nepal’ held by the Ministry of Education in Lalitpur district, PM Oli said, “It is a matter of shame that even in this 21st century people in Nepal are still illiterate, we need to upgrade our education system to say that there are no illiterate people in Nepal.” PM Oli added that education would upgrade people in attitude, etiquette, behaviour and culture necessary for the society and the nation. He further stressed imparting of education according to the students’ talents and aspirations.<br />

He called for an end to the trend to emulate foreign educational system and urged to follow better system in a traditional way, adding it was unusual and a matter of surprise that many students have started to fail. PM Oli urged all to prepare in order to produce capable human resources in all sectors. He drew attention towards the need to stop making education a means of business rather than a service sector. Minister for Education Girirajmani Pokharel said the Ministry was preparing to form a commission in the wake of the demand for a new educational policy for streamlining the education’s quality and to make it compatible to the new constitution and federal democratic republic set up.<br />

The dead bodies of captain Dinesh Neupane and co-pilot Santosh Rana killed when an aircraft of Air Kasthamandap crash-landed in Kalikot yesterday, have been brought to the capital on Saturday. The dead bodies were brought to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) through a chopper from Nepalgunj and from there to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Maharajgunj for postmortem on an ambulance. Yam Kumari, the mother of the co-pilot couldn’t control her tears after the dead body of her son was brought to the hospital. She hurried to the ambulance and hugged the dead body. She then lost her consciousness in the ambulance which sent a shockwave to the mourners. She was rushed for treatment in the same ambulance. Likewise, tears rolled down the eyes of the family members of captain Neupane when the dead body was brought to the hospital premises.<br />

Nepal will be a Hindu State -DPM Thapa<br />Friday 26th of February<br /><br />Bhimduttanagr, Feb 26: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa has claimed that the Hindu State would be revived in Nepal despite abortive efforts of foreign forces to establish other religion.<br />Opening the chariot procession featuring a cow idol at Bhimdutta Municipality-8, Sharada Peeth Jhamkeni Dham of Kanchanpur on Friday morning, DPM Thapa accused the foreign forces of taking undue advantage of Nepal's poverty and illiteracy for pushing the agenda of declaring Nepal a secular state.<br />Thapa, also the Chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N), stressed the need of collective efforts from all Nepalis to retain Nepal as the Hindu State. "We do only possess the strength to be a Hindu State", he said, adding that, "It is our right to declare Nepal a Hindu State".<br />Though there are 1.08 billion Hindu populations in the world no country is with the status of Hindu State, leader Thapa further said.<br />Meanwhile, the Bhakkeni Dham Development Committee felicitated DPM Thapa on the occasion.<br />First Jagadguru in Nepal Mohan Sharan Devacharya honoured Thapa with shawl and a letter of appreciation in recognition of his contribution to the promotion of religious tourism and Hinduism in western region.<br />Likewise, five Bhatta brothers of Bhimduttanagar municipality-18 have bore the expenses of Rs 888,000 for establishing the chariot handed over to the Dham by DPM Thapa.<br />The Bhatta brothers including Keshav Bhatta took the bid of setting up chariot in memory of their late father Bhawani Prasad Bhatta.<br />

The agency has informed the ministry of external affairs, ministry of home affairs, bureau of immigration and Nepal authorities through Interpol about the organized syndicate, which sends the girls on tourist visas.<br />
The sources said during the inquiry which was being covertly conducted by the agency, probe officers collected information from Foreign Regional Registration Office, Air India, Qatar Airways, Bureau of Immigration and 15 travel agents based in Delhi.<br />

Giving details of modus operandi of the alleged trafficking, a senior agency official said, the girls are booked with tickets, provided visa and hotel reservation in Nairobi via Dubai for tourist purposes but when they land in Dubai, their tickets for Nairobi and hotel bookings are cancelled.<br />
<br />
When asked about Nairobi connection when they can easily go to Dubai and come back as they have valid documents, the official said there could be many reasons–the Nepalese officials seek details of employer and nature of work and prostitution is never encouraged, girl going to Dubai for work is a social stigma among others.<br />

Nepal will start importing 80MW electricity from India from Wednesday. Nepal Electricity Authority and India’s NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam signed a temporary power supply agreement on Monday after settling price issues. As per the agreement, signed by NEA Managing Director Mukesh Kafle and NTPC General Manager AK Maggu, Nepal will for now buy electricity from India for the next four and a half months at Rs5.5 per unit (IRs 3.44 per unit). “This is the cheapest rate Nepal has got,” said Sher Singh Bhat, director of Power Trading Department at the NEA. There could be some changes in the rate after the agreement expires in June-end<br />

NEA officials said the electricity utility will test distribute the imported electricity for a week and thereafter will calculate whether load shedding hours could be reduced. The country is currently facing 13 hours of outage every day.<br />

A woman has been arrested for masterminding the murder of her father after a row between them over putting money into a beauty parlour turned ugly.Police on Tuesday arrested Sangita Maharjan, 20, of Tokha, Kathmandu, along with her six accomplices, for killing Maila Maharjan, 43, on February 4. Police identified other arrestees as Santosh Pandey of Dhading, Bikram Tamang of Dhading, Surya Rana Magar of Makawanpur, Dhan Kumar Tamang of Bhojpur, Hari Tamang of Kavre and Santosh Thapa Magar of Dhading. Santosh Pandey is Sangita’s husband. According to police, Sangita had decided to marry Pandey despite opposition from her family. As a trained beautician, Sangita had been pestering her father to put money into a beauty parlour before her marriage. After getting married with Pandey, Sangita again started badgering her father into giving her Rs 300,000 to 400,000 so that she could start the venture. But her father refused. According to police, at one point, the father had agreed to sell his land to give her the required money. But when the father showed no signs of selling the land, Sangita, along with her husband, hatched a plot to kill the entire family and acquire the property. Sangita then asked Bikram Tamang and his friends to kill her father. “Earlier, the group had made an unsuccessful attempt to kill the man on January 31,” said Senior Superintend of Police Sarbendra Khanal, chief of Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Teku.On the day of the murder, Sangita had asked her father to accompany her to a nearby bridge.When at the bridge, she threw sand in Maila’s eyes and Bikram, Surya Rana Magar, Dhan Kumar Tamang, Hari Tamang and Santosh Thapa Magar killed him.<br />
