Submitting separate memorandums to PM Oli at Bhairahawa on Friday, they demanded him complete the construction of the Gautam Buddha International Airport and prioritize the tourism and industrial developments.
According to them, some other needs in Lumbini were formation of Lumbini tourism board so that it would focus the exploration of uncharted potential of tourism in the region.
Expansion of existing Bhairahawa-Lumbini roadway to six lanes, construction of Lumbini view park and fun park, and establishment of Buddha circuit connecting the Buddha’s shrines, operation of metro train linking touristy spots, free visa to the tourists entering Nepal from Belhiya, cancellation of the distribution of collective visa system, and naming the Bhairahawa-Dhakdhai-Bhumahi roadway as Lumbini people’s highway are other demands made to the PM.
Receiving the memorandums, PM Oli said the government would come up with integrated plans to resolve the problems after earthquake and blockade.
He termed the people from Lumbini area the most fortunate ones, for the tourism in Lumbini would be the world-class in future.
The PM urged the industrialists to focus production, employment generating enterprise and the market promoting export.
